About Us
Virginia K. Altman, CEO and principal has been a trusted
counselor to organizations for 27 years; 18 of them as a change
management consultant to Fortune 500 companies, and as an owner of
and consultant to small to mid-sized businesses.
Her consulting career first took wing under Dr. Edward Deming,
where she applied his methodologies in Team Building, total Quality
Management, and Just-In-Time Manufacturing to overcome the challenge
of the Japanese invasion of the American Automotive Industry.
Virginia has studied Telecommunications and Financial Management
at Carnegie Mellon’s Heinz College.
She is currently a professor of business management at St.
Vincent College’s McKenna School of Business and is completing her
Business Intermediary Certification through the International
Business Brokers Association.
Experience
As CEO and President of Altman Telecom Technologies, Virginia K
Altman achieved 26% growth in sales in a one year period. At
various points in her career, Virginia has worked as a Process
Consultant and Master Facilitator with clients such as Sun
Microsystems, Microsoft, Symantec, Proctor & Gamble, Koch
Industries, Kraft, Inc., Red Lobster, and Georgia Pacific, just to
name a few.
She has partnered with a Corning Consumer Products Division
President to design and implement a turnaround strategy, increasing
return on investment from -6% to +14% in an 18 month period.
In working with BHP Steel in Australia, Virginia helped increase
their competitiveness, introducing preventative maintenance
procedures and managing team resolution of long-term recurring
problems.
Locally, Virginia has provided consulting services for clients
such as the Pittsburgh Presbytery, the East End Cooperative
Ministry, AAA West Penn/West Virginia, and CoManage Corporation.
As the second-generation owner of a small family-run business,
Altman Telephone Service, Virginia successfully maximized profits
before negotiating the sale of the business.
